OHCHR Assessment of human rights concerns in Xinjiang

The UN Human Rights Office today issued an assessment of human rights concerns in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

This assessment was initiated following serious allegations of human rights violations against Uyghurs and other Muslim communities since late 2017, in the context of the Chinese Government’s policies and measures to combat terrorism and “extremism”.
